Street Place plantation is a 1,517-acre productive family farm with a mix of dry cropland and timberland with several lakes and nearly two miles of Ogeechee River Frontage. Approximately 21% of the farm has historically been utilized for production of Agriculture. The remainder of the farm is a mixture of upland and bottomland timber, much of which has been harvested throughout the last 5 to 7 years. There are several current lakes and former lake sites, including Hancock Lake, which was once a 50-acre lake. Both major Lakes were damaged during the flood of 1990. These sites can be repaired and restored to create two major lakes on the property.
The property has an astonishing 1.86 miles of frontage on the Ogeechee River including a private boat landing. The Ogeechee River is known for great fishing and is sure to attract waterfowl. Speaking of waterfowl, the several small bays surrounding the ag fields coupled with the lakes and flooded timber provide excellent waterfowl habitat.
There is no shortage of wildlife on this property. The young pine and hardwood timber serves as excellent habitat for the deer with ample water sources and bedding areas throughout. As indicated in the pictures the property has produced excellent deer over the years.
Street Place has a great road infrastructure with the primary road running the depth of the property, just over two miles, from the state highway all the way to the Ogeechee River. Overhead power runs the length of this road, providing easy access to electricity for much of the property.
The terrain is a mix of relatively flat topography in the agricultural areas with a gradual roll towards the Ogeechee River. Several small creeks flow through the property feeding the multiple lakes and Ponds throughout.
An electric transmission line is near the property lending the opportunity for conservation or solar development. The high percentage of upland, well drained soils further improve the opportunity for development.
Steeped in history, Street Place Plantation is bifurcated by a Civil War Era Railroad bed. Throughout the years, owners and visitors have found civil war artifacts throughout the property and regularly discover arrowheads and other Native American artifacts.
